Week #29- March 17, 2025

This Thursday, all MES families are invited to the MES Title I Spring Family Engagement Night. The theme for the evening is “March Into Reading” for your  Mind, Body and Soul. The event is from 6:00 to 7:30 PM. Activities will include Reading a recipe to make a healthy snack , engaging in movement and STEM activities with future teachers from Bridgewater College and some MES teachers and staff, and learning CPR with the American Heart Association.

If you have not yet returned the form sent home earlier, but wish to attend, please return the form or contact your child’s teacher as soon as possible. Knowing how many people will attend will aid in the planning effort.

See the attached forms for information and the response form.

Other Announcements/Reminders from the MES Office:

  • Please contact the office if you are moving and your child will not be attending MES next year. Also, contact the office if you are moving out of the MES district and you still want to request that your child attend MES next year.

  • The March 10-Day Attendance Challenge resulted in 179 students (74%) of students having perfect attendance. If all goes as planned, students will get their free ice cream on Friday.

  • March Menus; A mechanical issue with one of the refrigerators in the kitchen has caused some changes to the menu. On Tuesday, March 18, students will have egg with their pancake instead of sausage. Also on that day, BBQ chicken will replace the crispy chicken patty on the lunch menu. Friday, March 21, the lunch menu will be “Chicken Day” instead of chicken tenders. Changes will also be posted on the MES Facebook page. Any changes for next week will be communicated throughout the week and in next week’s Parent Update.

  • MES Theme and Spirit Days 2024-2025

  • MES Library Information: Library Catalog Tutorial explains how families can access the MES Library Catalog and how to use the search, history and hold features of the catalog.   Learn more at the MES Library Website.

  • Attendance Tip: One suggestion offered by attendanceworks.org is for families to develop backup plans for getting children to school if something comes up. Call on a family member, a neighbor, or another parent to ensure that attendance is not interrupted.
