The Drip Drop Coffee Shop from MMS's Adapted Special Education Program delivered hot and delicious coffee, cider, tea, and hot chocolate to Cub Run teachers and staff this morning! We enjoyed being your customers


A JMU volunteer connected Mrs. Wilt’s class with his Dad who is a Geologist! He visited the classroom and shared about his career, travels, and rock identification. 🪨🔎

Our 5th graders sang and cheered at the Spotswood High School football game this evening. Go Blazers! 💙🏈⚔️



After reading the Chinese folktale, The Magic Paintbrush, second graders got a chance to make their own artistic creations with magic scratch off paper! 🎨🖌️



Second grade celebrated the end of one of their CKLA units by traveling around the world. First stop- Ancient China! Students colored rice to make their own sensory bins. 🍚🎨🇨🇳



Fifth grade visited Massanutten Technical Center to learn more about their hands on programs! 🧑🍳🧑✈️👷🧑⚕️




Kindergarten explored the fives senses at the JMU arboretum- can you name all five? 🪶🐿️🍂

Fifth graders enjoyed designing their own food trucks while practicing adding and subtracting decimals! 💰🍕🚙



The Cub Run book fairy recently moved in and is making herself at home while currently reading The Wild Robot…just in time for the new movie coming out this week. 📗🧚♀️🤖

Farm to School week is this coming week! Our farm to school menu this year features: locally raised ground beef from Zion’s Farm in Linville, pork from Bakers Pork in Mt. Jackson, freshly harvested potatoes from Valley Farming in Dayton, lettuce from Portwood Gardens in Dayton, apples from Showalter's Orchard in Timberville, and zucchini from Hanover, VA.
The Crunch Heard 'Round the Commonwealth is an event held Thursday, October 10, 2024. To celebrate the event, participants across the Commonwealth will take a bite out of a Virginia grown apple, producing the celebratory “Crunch.” Together, we will make some noise for farm to school! All lunch meals on Thursday, October 10, include the choice of a locally grown apple from Showalter's Orchard in Timberville.
