Dear RCPS Community,

It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I welcome you to the Rockingham County Public Schools Comprehensive Plan. This roadmap reflects our shared vision for the future of education in our community. This plan represents more than just goals and strategies—it embodies the aspirations, voices, and dedication of our students, families, staff, and community partners.

As we look ahead, we are reminded that education is the cornerstone of opportunity. Every decision within this plan is grounded in our commitment to providing equitable access to exceptional learning experiences, ensuring that every student is prepared to succeed in an ever-changing world.

This plan was developed collaboratively, guided by the input of many who care deeply about our schools. It charts a path forward by focusing on School Safety, Academic Excellence, Employee Recruitment and Retention, Community Engagement, Student Behavioral Health, and Stewardship.

Through these priorities, we aim to empower every learner, celebrate our diversity, and strengthen our role as a hub of opportunity and growth for the entire community.

Our mission extends beyond the classroom as we prepare students not just for graduation, but for life. Our comprehensive plan reflects a bold vision: ensuring every student is employed, engaged in their community, enlisted, or enrolled in higher education after graduation. We are committed to fostering an environment where students can explore their passions, develop essential skills, and build pathways to their future. This vision is guided by our motto: “Educating today’s learners, developing tomorrow’s future.”
